Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean - handover of the presidency from the European Parliament to the Parliament of Morocco

On 6 April, DMED members, headed by President Roberta Metsola, will meet in Strasbourg with the Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives of Morocco, Mr Rachid Talbi Alami, who will intervene in his capacity as new President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean (PA-UfM).

President Talbi Alami will present the priorities of the Moroccan presidency, and discuss with EP President Metsola and DMED members the repercussions of the Ukrainian war on the Mediterranean region.

1. Exchange of views with VP/HR Federica Mogherini, Co-President of the UfM, about:

  • "The UfM: state of play and geopolitical prospects for the Euro-Mediterranean region. Which role for the PA-UfM?"

2. Debriefing of the 13 July 2018 Bureau and Enlarged Bureau meetings and decision to set up the Secretariat of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union for the Mediterranean in Rome
