EU-Argentina IPM and working visit, 31 October - 3 November 2016, San Luis and Buenos Aires

The Delegation for relations with the Mercosur (DMER) travelled to San Luis and Buenos Aires) for a working visit, from 31 October to 3 November 2016.

The Delegation was led by the Chair of DMER, Francisco ASSIS (S&D, Portugal), and also included Xabier BENITO ZILUAGA (GUE/NGL, Spain), Lambert van NOSTELROOIJ (PPE, Netherlands), Clara GUILERA GARCIA (S&D, Spain), Ashley FOX (ECR, UK) and Antonio MARINHO E PINTO (ALDE, Portugal).

  • Senators Omar Perotti (Santa Fé), Adolfo Rodriguez Saá (San Luis), Silvia del Rosario Giacoppa (Jujuy) and Liliana Beatriz Fellner (Jujuy) and Congressman Luis Bernardo Lusquiños (San Luis).

MEPs also visited two projects financed by the EU

Topics addressed included the EU-Argentina dispute on biodiesel, the EU-Mercosur Association Agreement and the set up a parliamentary friendship group between the Argentine Congress and the EP
