Second meeting of the APC EU-Central Central, 9 April, 09.00-17.00, EP, Brussels
On this occasion, a delegation from Central America, composed of a total of nine Central America Parliamentarians - three from Costa Rica and six from Parlacen, came to the European Parliament.
The EU-CA APC was established by Article 9 of the Association agreement between the EU and Central America and entered into force in its entirety on 1 May 2024, twelve years after its signature.
In its constitutive meeting which took place took place on 21 July 2025 in San José, Costa Rica, the Association Parliamentary Committee appointed its bureau and adopted its internal rules of procedure and had a first exchange on its objectives and priorities.
This second meeting was dedicated to strengthen the excellent relations between both regions and the following topics were dealt with: political and economic relations between the EU and Central America, cooperation in the fields of security and fight against organised crime and cooperation and development.

In order to facilitate a swift start into the new legislative term, the Parliament has prepared for the new Members a series of brochures providing a detailed information on the EP's role in the external policies of the EU as well as the work of standing inter-parliamentary standing delegations.
