Ordinary meetings

This meeting of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) took place on 2 March 2026 and the following items were discussed:

• Implementation of the Global Gateway in South America: the case of the Gran Chaco (Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay and Brazil). Presentation of "Redes Chaco" platform
  
  
• Human rights situation in Venezuela: the voice of political prisoners (in camera)

An additional part was also 'in camera' and dedicated to the preparation of the DMER mission to Argentina, which will take place to Argentina (Buenos Aires and Salta) from 30 March - 1 April 2026.

This meeting of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) took place on 8 December 2025 and included the following items on its agenda:

• The EU-Mercosur Partnership Agreement: appraisal of the provisions on environmental issues, with particular reference to environmental protection

• EU action on environmental protection and fight against climate change in Mercosur countries

• Presentation of the report of the DMER mission to Uruguay and Paraguay of 27-29 October 2025

This meeting of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) took place on 25 September 2025 and the discussion included the EU-Mercosur Partnership Agreement: appraisal of the provisions on trade in services as well as the new government of Yamandú Orsi in Uruguay.

The meeting was followed by the Preparatory meeting for the DMER mission to Uruguay and Paraguay (in camera).

This meeting of the Delegation for relations with Mercosur (DMER) of 9 December 2024 highlighted an Exchange of views (via video conference) with the President and members of the Executive Bureau of Parlasur on the state of play of the bilateral relationship, with particular reference to the Association Agreement EU-Mercosur.

In the light of the EP Gender Equality Week in the European Parliament, the agenda also included an Exchange of views on Combatting violence against women: on- and offline with the presence of the European Women's Lobby.

At its constitutive meeting on 3 October 2024, the Delegation for Relations with Mercosur (DMER) elected the following bureau members:
