An exchange of views on the new Russian Strategy for the Arctic and the future of the EU Arctic policy with the inputs of Dr. Michael PAUL, Senior Fellow, German Institute for International and Security Affairs and the EU Ambassador at large for the Arctic, Mr Michael MANN.

A discussion on the Human Rights situation in Russia in the context of the popular demonstrations and the unprecedented wave of arrests following the reactivation of Navalny jail sentence.

An exchange of views on Russia's interference and disinformation practices, with Dr Mila Milosevic-Juaristi (Elcano think-tank, Madrid) and Dr Nicolas de Pedro (Institute for Statecraft, Scotland)

A discussion on the future of Russia's political system after the 2020 constitutional changes and its implications for the EU-Russia relations.
Three guest speakers addressed the Delegation:

• Professor Niel ROBINSON, University of Limerick, Ireland
• Mr Andrei KOLESNIKOV, Senior Fellow Carnegie Moscow Centre
• Mr. Luc DEVIGNE, acting Managing Director, European External Action Service

The discussion included the recent detention of the Russian opposition and civil society activist, Alexei Navalny and the popular protests across Russia.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the President of the European Parliament and its political leaders have modified Parliament's calendar of activities. The aim is to enable Parliament to exercise its core functions, while complying with the duty of care for its Members and staff and protecting public health.

As a result, most meetings and all missions of Parliament's delegations have been cancelled or postponed.

When the delegations are able to resume normal activities, the calendar on this page will provide details.

During the D-RU constituent meeting on 26 September 2019, the members of the Delegation's Bureau were elected.
