30th Meeting of the EU-Mexico JPC in Mexico: 27-29 November 2023
The 30th meeting of the EU-Mexico Joint Parliamentary Committee took place in Mexico City from 27-29 November 2023.
It covered the following topics:
1) EU-Mexico political relations
2) Human rights, social rights and immigration issues
3) Modernization of the EU-Mexico comprehensive agreement
4) Economic and scientific relations with Mexico, including the Global Economic Gateway
The EP delegation also held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alicia Bárcena Ibarra.

28th Meeting of the EU-Mexico JPC in Mexico: 3-5 November 2022
This meeting represented the first EU-Mexico JPC organised in person after the COVID-19 pandemic. The JPC meeting covered 5 main topics:
(1) the political, economic and social situation in Mexico and in the European Union,
(2) the modernised Global Agreement Mexico-European Union,
(3) the cooperation on Migration, from the perspective of countries of Transit and Destination,
(4) the exchange of Best Practices on Gender Equality and Combating Violence against women,
(5) and the bilateral cooperation in the area of Security and Justice.
More specifically, the meeting evaluated the state of play of the modernised EU-Mexico 'Global Agreement' and the efforts to definitively conclude the agreement and submit for ratification by the Mexican Congress and the European Parliament.

Mission of D-MX to Mexico from 28-30 October 2021
The Delegation to the EU-Mexico Joint Parliamentary Committee (D-MX) visited Mexico City from 28-30 October 2021.
Members met with Mexican members of the EU-Mexico Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC), Congress and Government authorities as well as representatives of civil society and universities with a focus on promoting stronger relations between the EU and Mexico as well as cooperation on regional and global challenges.
The mission finished with a field visit to an EU funded project.
27th Meeting of the EU-Mexico JPC in Brussels: 3 February 2020
The delegates addressed the following topics:
- Political, Economic and Social situation in Mexico
- Methods for combating gender violence in Mexico and the EU and advancing towards quality
- Exchange of positive experiences on environmental-protection measures
The JPC members made final comments on the Joint Declaration and adopted it.
