–   having regard to the draft Council decision (11523/2006)[1],

–   having regard to the request for assent submitted by the Council pursuant to Article 4(2), second indent, of Council decision 97/836/EC (C6‑0346/2006)[2],

–   having regard to Rules 75(1) and 43(1) of its Rules of Procedure,

–   having regard to the recommendation of the Committee on International Trade (A6‑0473/2006),

1.  Gives its assent to the draft Council decision;

2.  Instructs its President to forward its position to the Council and Commission.
