The European Parliament,

–  having regard to Rule 133 of its Rules of Procedure,

D.  whereas, if checks were increased and there were more information on consumption of these foodstuffs, public expenditure in this area would decrease;

1.  Takes the view that more attention should be paid to this issue, which should be regarded as a priority;

2.  Proposes to the Commission a regulatory policy for increasing checks on and inspections of imports of foodstuffs that have been exposed to glyphosate.
