Michael Cashman (PSE), rapporteur. – Mr President, following discussions with other groups, it is a compromise amendment. I will read it in its entirety as it is short: ... ‘reinforces the view that, in principle, the petitions process should be a right which is targeted at European citizens who do not have other means of recourse to action by the European Parliament; MEPs can avail themselves of this right through the Rules of Parliament and remind them that they have other parliamentary processes at their disposal.’
