  Daniel Cohn-Bendit (Verts/ALE). - Mr President, I have an oral amendment to paragraph 2, which is about asylum seekers and refugees. I shall say it in English so that everyone can understand. In the text you have ‘Calls on the EU’ – to which I want to add ‘and its Member States’ – ‘to take appropriate responsible’ – to which I want to add ‘and humanitarian’ – measures on the ‘influx of refugees’ – to which I want to add ‘and asylum seekers’ –into the EU Member States. It is very simple, it is humanitarian and I think all Christians or non-believers can follow me.

  José Ignacio Salafranca Sánchez-Neyra (PPE). - Señor Presidente, me gustaría hacer una aclaración sobre la enmienda oral presentada por el Grupo de los Verdes/Alianza Libre Europea.

Mi Grupo, normalmente, cumple estrictamente los compromisos que firma en la mesa de negociaciones, y los términos de la negociación, señor Presidente, dicen que la Unión Europea tomará medidas apropiadas y responsables. Evidentemente, dentro de esas medidas están las medidas humanitarias, como quedó reflejado en el debate que tuvimos con la señora Ashton, el otro día, sobre la situación en Siria.

Por lo tanto, el añadido de esta palabra es superfluo porque está contenida ya en los términos. Señor Presidente, mi Grupo se opone a la inclusión de esta palabra.
