Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the Commission. − Mr President, honourable Members, the Commission has taken note of Parliament’s vote to reject the Commission’s proposal. We regret this outcome, as we remain convinced that delaying the auctioning of further emission allowances is warranted, given the considerable surplus of allowances already on the market and the fact that this surplus has grown further since the Commission presented its proposal.
In line with the provisions of the Framework Agreement between our institutions, the Commission will now reflect on the outcome of today’s vote and the way forward and will inform Parliament of its conclusions.
József Szájer (PPE). - Mr President, on behalf of 40 colleagues who asked me to support them, on the basis of Article 56(3) we would like to ask you to proceed to the vote, since the Commission did not withdraw the position. We would like to have a final vote on the draft resolution in order to close the procedure.
(El Parlamento rechaza la propuesta de someter a votación la propuesta de Resolución legislativa. El informe se devuelve a la comisión competente para nuevo examen.)
