  Ulrike Lunacek (Verts/ALE). - Mr President, since the deadline for the amendments was closed, two events have happened in North Mitrovica, in the North of Kosovo, that we need to mention in an oral amendment. These were very regrettable incidents, especially last night’s assassination of a liberal Serb councillor in North Mitrovica.

I shall therefore read out the oral amendment and ask you all to support it: ‘Stresses, in this regard, that the failure to inaugurate a new mayor in North Mitrovica and the subsequent call for new elections in this municipality must not hinder the continuation of the process and the full implementation of the 19 April agreement’. This is to be followed by ‘Strongly condemns the murder of Dimitrije Janićijević, a municipal councillor in North Mitrovica, and calls for the relevant authorities to start an investigation immediately and to bring the perpetrators to justice’.
