Afzal Khan (S&D), in writing. – I supported the resolution calling for an international coordination of efforts to counter the menace of ISIS and to protect all civilian victims of the conflict, regardless of their ethnicity and religion. The threat of ISIS remains very serious and substantial. Its murderous onslaught against minorities and sectarian groups, women and children, journalists and aid workers has been deeply disturbing. Muslims everywhere are appalled that these crimes are being carried out in the name of their faith. ISIS’ false ideology and narrative must be therefore confronted and a broad coalition, including Arab countries, put in place to tackle the threat of ISIS.
