Jarosław Leszek Wałęsa (PPE), in writing. – I have lent my support to the resolution on the Situation in Iraq and Syria and the ISIS offensive including the persecution of minorities (Motions for resolutions [2014/2843(RSP)] RC-B8-0109/2014, B8-0109/2014, B8-0110/2014, B8-0121/2014, B8-0130/2014, B8-0134/2014, B8-0137/2014 and B8-0138/2014). I firmly believe that we must stand with our allies in an effort to minimise and/or stop terrorist groups from expanding and killing innocent people. This also extends to cover the violation of rights of minorities and their ability to prosper. It is quite evident that we live in a time where safety is not always assured, but we must take the appropriate action to protect ourselves and our loved ones. The continued violation and persecution of minority groups has grown vastly over the past decade and it is clearly a time to put an end to the chaos,
