  James Carver (EFDD), in writing. – With Regard to Amendment 8:

This amendment called for the release of over 7 000 prisoners. Many of these individuals will have had convictions for violence, terrorism and extremism. The large number of prisoners to be released would result in such individuals continuing their violent activities. Given the delicate ceasefire in Israel and Gaza, as well as the wider region, this would lead to greater instability.
