Accession of Croatia to the Convention on mutual assistance in criminal matters (A8-0156/2015 - Birgit Sippel)

Doru-Claudian Frunzulică (S&D), in writing. ‒ This Commission recommendation for a Council decision will pave the way for Croatia to complete its accession to the 2000 Convention on Mutual Assistance in Criminal Matters (‘the MLA Convention’), between the Member States of the European Union, and its Protocol.

It follows from the 2011 Treaty of Accession concerning Croatia, which lists six conventions and protocols in the area of Justice and Home Affairs to which Croatia would accede by way of Council decisions. This Council decision will make the adjustments to the MLA Convention which are required by reason of Croatia’s accession. I backed this proposal in the plenary.
