Jan Philipp Albrecht (Verts/ALE). – Mr President, the following vote is on a remarkable historic breakthrough. For the first time in history, the United States of America is entering into a binding international agreement on data protection standards. This House has been asking for this for many years, and has achieved a remarkable success by getting judicial redress for the data protection rights of EU citizens in the United States. Finally, we have this agreement. I thank the shadows and the Commission very much for their persistent work towards getting the United States to agree to this step forward, and I hope that you will all give your content to this agreement.
