  Kristina Winberg (ECR). – Mr President, this House should know that my Group, the ECR Group, was blocked from signing this joint text because of the childish political games of the Socialist, Greens and the GUE Groups. Despite having worked together to try and agree on a resolution that would condemn violence by both communist or Nazi extremists, those groups were more concerned with childish political games than having a statement that this Parliament ensures free speech but does not tolerate provocation to violence. Shame on them.

  Cecilia Wikström (ALDE). – Mr President, could we possibly have a block vote on the remaining amendments and speed up the process?

  Przewodniczący. – Niestety, nie możemy tego zrobić, bo to są głosowania imienne. Bardzo mi przykro, rozumiem, że Państwo się spieszą.

  Marcus Pretzell (ENF). – Mr President, as Ms Winberg has already pointed out, this is a very sensitive issue. This brilliant amendment from the left of this House points out the true roots of neo-fascism, and I want to emphasise this by adding the following words: ‘this affiliation between the political and societal class struggle was acknowledged by Willy Brandt in 1932’.

(Murmurs of dissent)

  Jens Geier (S&D). – Herr Präsident! Es ist zutreffend, dass die NS-Bewegung einen proletarischen Anteil hatte, vor allem in der sogenannten Sturmabteilung, der SA.

Es gab dort einen antikapitalistischen Impuls, aber dieser war antisemitisch und rassistisch, weil er sich vor allem gegen Unternehmer jüdischen Glaubens gerichtet hat. Mit diesem antikapitalistischen Element im Nationalsozialismus war es spätestens im Frühjahr 1933 vorbei, als Ernst Röhm, der Führer der SA, ermordet und seine Organisation entmachtet wurde. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt war der nationalsozialistische Terror gegen Kommunisten, Sozialdemokraten, Liberale und Politiker des christdemokratischen Zentrums bereits in vollem Gange. Das alles hat Willy Brandt 1932 natürlich noch nicht wissen können. Deshalb ist dieses Zitat in dem Zusammenhang, den wir heute diskutieren, sinnentstellend.
