Matt Carthy (GUE/NGL). – Mr President, in line with Rule 59(3), I’d like to request that the House proceed to vote on the amendments. Unfortunately, the PPE and S&D Groups have colluded in the negotiations to prevent other political groups from having a meaningful say in this package, which will hurt borrowers and give a free rein to vultures. So we are asking that a vote be taken by roll call to allow our amendments to protect European homeowners from evictions.

Roberto Gualtieri, Rapporteur. – Mr President, the text adopted in the committee has been voted for by a very broad majority. We were accused, the last time I discussed this with Mr Giegold, of producing a text that is too soft and not sufficiently strong on NPLs. Now we have the opposite accusation. The reality is that this is a very balanced text that would prevent precisely those things about which concern has been raised. So I would encourage the House to vote as the committee did and adopt it by a broad majority.
