  Jiří Pospíšil (PPE). – Pane předsedající, já jsem podpořil tuto zprávu, toto absolutorium Evropské komise. Chci dodat, že mě jako poslance za Českou republiku mrzí, že v této zprávě musel být dán tak velký prostor kauzám pana premiéra Babiše. Potvrzuje to, že český premiér bohužel má závažné kauzy a je ve střetu zájmů, co se týče peněz, které čerpá z Evropské unie pro firmy, které dříve vlastnil a nyní je umístil do svěřeneckého fondu. Budu velmi rád, když Komise vyslyší jasná ustanovení této zprávy a když dokončí prověřování střetu premiéra Babiše ve věci čerpání evropských peněz, aby tedy bylo zřejmé a jasné, nakolik premiér Babiš porušuje či neporušuje evropské právo. Je to natolik závažné, že pět bodů této zprávy se věnuje jeho podnikání, střetu zájmů a jeho osobě.

  Daniel Hannan (ECR). – Mr President, it’s always about the money, isn’t it? The European Union has become a very good mechanism for taking wealth from the general population and redistributing it to people who are lucky enough – directly or indirectly – to be part of the system. To be fair, it isn’t unique in that regard; every system of government has that aspect to it. But what is unique is the way in which, by extending the difference between the people contributing and the people spending, it maximises the inefficiency that comes from a remote government. The fundamental role of any legislature is to hold the executive to account, but that dynamic doesn’t apply in this assembly, because for the sake of greater European integration this Parliament ends up always lining up with the Commission against the taxpayer in the cause of greater and greater integration. That has been the problem from the beginning.
