  Dobromir Sośnierz (NI). – Panie Przewodniczący! Ja głosowałem przeciwko. Wystarczy zajrzeć do punktu 42a, żeby się przekonać, że znowu odpłynęliśmy w otchłań absurdu. Namawiamy tutaj do przywrócenia czy też ustanowienia równowagi płci w sektorze rybołówstwa. Ja się chciałbym zapytać, czy to na serio. Czy to nie będzie tylko takie puste głosowanie, czy posłanki, które za tym głosowały, po zakończeniu tej kadencji – mam nadzieję – zasilą szeregi marynarzy, rybaków, zatrudnią się na kutrach. Bo tam do tej pory kobiety nie chcą pracować, więc mam nadzieję, że skoro domagamy się tego, to nie jest takie tylko pustosłowie. Poza tym taki długi i nudny tekst powinien być odrzucony z samego powodu swojej długości i nudności, więc głosowałem przeciwko.

  Seán Kelly (PPE). – (Inaudible) ... and tourist culture, and I think it’s a good report. The current system has oftentimes proved quite complex, which hinders the granting of funding to those who most deserve it. New provisions adopted by the Committee on Fisheries (PECH) will allow for more flexible access to compensation provided by the fund in case of permanent cessation of fishing activities, where important restructuring of the fleet is necessary.

Overall, the new provisions will simplify the system, and as such should make it more accessible. My hope is that this will benefit the Irish fishing community hugely, including our islands, for which there were some amendments. Member States and operators will be able to use the funds according to their needs, instead of being bound by a list of pre—defined measures and eligibility rules. It will also support and encourage investments aiming at improving the safety and working life and living conditions of the crew on board and improving the quality of the fish within the capacity limits for each Member State.
