  Vlad-Marius Botoş (Renew). – Domnule Președinte, am dat un vot pozitiv acestei rezoluții cu toată încrederea, pentru că locul Republicii Moldova este alături de Uniunea Europeană. Milioanele de cetățeni din Republica Moldova au arătat în anul 2020 că își doresc democrația, că vor reforme și împărtășesc valorile noastre europene. Odată cu alegerea noii conduceri, a noului guvern, mesajul tuturor moldovenilor a fost foarte clar: „Alegem Europa”.

Uniunea Europeană trebuie să ajungă să fie exact ceea ce spune numele ei: o uniune a tuturor europenilor, în care democrația, statul de drept și drepturile omului să fie pe primul loc. Pentru ca să ajungă la momentul în care să poată face parte din Uniunea Europeană, Republica Moldova are nevoie de sprijin, nu doar politic, ci și economic și financiar.

Sunt reforme dificile pe care trebuie să le facă această țară greu încercată de istoria ultimilor ani. Este o luptă pe care trebuie să o ducă încă pentru democratizarea fără drept de apel, fără cale de întoarcere. Republica Moldova însă are nevoie de noi și acum este cel mai bun moment să îi arătăm că suntem alături.

  Clare Daly (The Left). – Mr President, I voted against this motion. I heard a lot of colleagues talking about support for our friends in Moldova, they are part of the European family. Well, I don’t know what way you treat your friends and family, but in Ireland we wouldn’t be shackling them with a giant loan, with extortionate terms and conditions in that – we’d be giving them grants, we’d be giving them donations. But that’s not what this motion is. This is shackling Moldova to crippling neoliberal conditionalities which will impoverish them, which will open up their economy to exploitation, privatisation and undermining of their living conditions.

It’s somewhat similar to what we’ve done with Ukraine, where they forced the Ukrainian state to remove protections such as the sale of state land and so on, in return for a few paltry visa waivers and the like, so we can benefit from the exploitation of Ukrainian seasonal labour, or now Moldovan seasonal labour. It’s a con job. We voted against it. We should be genuinely supporting our neighbours, not undermining them for neoliberal capitalism.

  Mick Wallace (The Left). – Mr President, there are few case studies like Eastern Europe that give lie to the myth that capitalism creates a general prosperity. The former Soviet republics have been carved up through IMF shock therapy, neoliberal economic reforms and an endless series of privatisation scandals ever since 1990, robbing state coffers of the funds needed to address the plight of their people and giving rise to instability and wars. But the wars have been a gift for Western centres of financial capitalism. From the Bosnian war, to Kosovo, to Ukraine, reconstruction loans lock these countries into impossible debt traps and further crushing reforms see state assets end up in fire sales to Western vultures.

Moldova and Ukraine are two of the poorest countries on the continent, but to paraphrase Michael Parenti, they are rich, they are not underdeveloped – they are overexploited. The historical record shows that we care about these countries insofar as the IMF, the World Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development can carve them up, profit off them and leave them for dead. I voted against.

  Eugen Tomac (PPE). – Domnule Președinte, am votat pentru această decizie extrem de importantă. Sunt unul dintre cei 558 de colegi care au votat pentru. Regret că există 20 de europarlamentari care nu înțeleg ce înseamnă Republica Moldova.

Din cele 150 de milioane, 30 de milioane de euro sunt fonduri nerambursabile, iar restul credite extrem de avantajoase pentru un stat care este ținut în captivitate de trei decenii de Federația Rusă, care are prezentă trupe militare ilegale pe teritoriul Republicii Moldova.

Iar astăzi peste 370 000 de cetățeni ai Ucrainei au ales drept țară de refugiu Republica Moldova și cred că este extrem de important acest suport într-un moment extrem de greu, când Republica Moldova este la fel de puternic amenințată de către Federația Rusă, deci am votat pentru.

  Ангел Джамбазки (ECR). – (…) Гласувах за този доклад, защото Молдова определено има нужда от помощ в този момент, когато на нейната граница и на територията на тази немного голяма държава навлизат стотици, десетки хиляди бежанци от Украйна. Нека ви напомня, че на територията на Молдова има окупирана територия от руски войски, така наречената „фалшива Република Приднестровие“, която също представлява определена заплаха за самата държава Молдова и за мира в региона.

Но гласувайки за този доклад, искам да обърна вниманието и на Вас, и на всички колеги, г-н Председател, че трябва да бъде обърнато внимание на молдовските власти как да се отнасят към хуманитарната помощ, която отива към Украйна. Тази събота и неделя аз лично се убедих, организирайки конвой от бусове с хуманитарна помощ, които пътуваха от България през Румъния и през Молдова за Украйна, в опита на молдовските митничари, гранични служители, да създадат известни затруднения, когато превозвахме храната и медицинските помощи през Молдова за Украйна. Така че, моля, обърнете внимание. Тази помощ трябва да минава много по-лесно.
