  Sēdes vadītājs. – Nākamais darba kārtības punkts ir vienu minūti ilgas uzstāšanās par politiski svarīgiem jautājumiem (Reglamenta 172. pants).

Vēlos jūs informēt, ka vienu minūti ilgas uzstāšanās laikā esat aicināti klātesošos uzrunāt no savas vietas.

Pirms es pāreju pie šī punkta un došu vārdu pirmajam ziņotājam, es aizmirsu pateikt, ka par iepriekšējo jautājumu balsošana notiks rītdien, tāpat kā par vairākiem iepriekš debatētajiem ziņojumiem.

  Ελισσάβετ Βόζεμπεργκ-Βρυωνίδη (PPE). – Κύριε Πρόεδρε, το καλοκαίρι η χώρα μου, η Ελλάδα, δοκιμάστηκε σκληρά. Φονικές πυρκαγιές και πρωτοφανείς πλημμύρες που συμβαίνουν κάθε τριακόσια χρόνια συγκλόνισαν την πατρίδα μου. Από τα ακραία φαινόμενα άνθρωποι έχασαν τη ζωή τους, θάφτηκαν ολόκληρα χωριά, δασικές εκτάσεις-πνεύμονες εξαφανίστηκαν, ενώ σπίτια, επιχειρήσεις και καλλιέργειες καταστράφηκαν ολοκληρωτικά.

Ο πρωθυπουργός της Ελλάδας, κύριος Μητσοτάκης, αύριο θα ενημερώσει αναλυτικά τις Προέδρους Επιτροπής και Κοινοβουλίου για την έκταση και το μέγεθος των καταστροφών και την ανάγκη ευρωπαϊκής στήριξης. Συνάδελφοι, βρισκόμαστε στο έλεος της κλιματικής αλλαγής, με απρόβλεπτες εξελίξεις. Στην Ευρώπη διαθέτουμε τα κατάλληλα χρηματοδοτικά εργαλεία, όμως επιβάλλεται η επανεξέταση και προσαρμογή τους στις έκτακτες συνθήκες. Πρέπει να ωφελούνται χωρίς καθυστέρηση τα κράτη μέλη που πλήττονται και η χώρα μου, η Ελλάδα, να λάβει άμεσα την οικονομική στήριξη που της αναλογεί.

  Maria Grapini (S&D). – Domnule președinte, domnule comisar, mai sunt 32 de săptămâni și terminați și dumneavoastră mandatul, terminăm și noi Parlamentul European. Una din devizele Uniunii Europene este aceea că toți cetățenii sunt egali. Eu mă întorc cu tristețe acasă, vă spun drept, pentru că din 2014 pledez ca și românii să aibă drepturi egale cu cetățenii și am să vă dau trei exemple în care cetățenii din țara mea sunt discriminați.

Un exemplu este cel legat de spațiul Schengen. Parlamentul a votat de 5-6 ori. Nu se întâmplă nimic. Comisia este gardianul tratatelor. Există temei juridic să acționați asupra Austriei. Nu s-a întâmplat nimic. Ce să le spunem în campania electorală românilor ca să vină la vot pentru alegerile Parlamentului European?

A doua discriminare este cea legată de viza pentru Statele Unite. Domnule comisar, tratatul prevede reciprocitate. Dacă Statele Unite nu lasă cetățenii României să intre acolo, dumneavoastră puteți aplica acel punct. Și mai am o discriminare la care la fel, nu pot să răspund. Este vorba de subvențiile pentru fermierii din România, comparativ cu ce le... (Președintele a retras cuvântul vorbitoarei)

  Илхан Кючюк (Renew). – Г-н Председател, много от колегите говореха за природните бедствия, които за съжаление са на наша територия. Имахме немалко от тях, да не изброявам всички страни, но за всеки случай бих искал да откроя няколко от последните - наводненията в Гърция и в моята страна, България.

Струва ми се, че трябва да погледнем много по-сериозно на някои структурни промени, които трябва да направи Европейският съюз. На първо място промяна по правилата, по които са организирани средствата във фонд Солидарност, те са абсолютно недостатъчни. Второ, по отношение на критериите в самия фонд – 0,6% от брутния вътрешен продукт трябва да покрива една държава, тоест да има такива щети, които са повече от 0,6% от брутния вътрешен продукт. Но ако щетите са много, те са няколко на брой? Това поставя големия въпрос, как се изчисляват точно по индикатора брутен вътрешен продукт?

Навлизаме в един чувствителен период за европейската демокрация, но това в същото време е и възможност за промяна на бюджетните правила. Точно в средата на бюджетната процедура ми се струва, че трябва да има много по-големи средства и много по-опростени правила.

  Erik Marquardt (Verts/ALE). – Herr Präsident! Ich wollte heute Abend das Wort ergreifen, um auf die Situation in Afghanistan aufmerksam zu machen, wo vor zwei Jahren die Taliban die Macht übernommen haben, und den Menschen dort sagen, dass sie nicht vergessen sind – auch von uns hier nicht.

Ich erinnere mich noch, wie vor zwei Jahren die ganze Welt nach Afghanistan geschaut hat. Und inzwischen hat man leider das Gefühl, dass die ganze Welt die Situation in Afghanistan vergessen hat. Letzte Woche erst hat das Welternährungsprogramm verkündet, dass wegen mangelndem Geld aus der internationalen Gemeinschaft 10 Millionen Menschen in Afghanistan nicht mehr mit Essen versorgt werden können. Immer mehr Menschen hungern dort, immer mehr Menschen fliehen in die angrenzenden Regionen. Und auch in den angrenzenden Regionen tun wir nicht genug, um zum Beispiel Mädchen aus Afghanistan dort – beispielsweise in Pakistan – mit einem Stipendium zu helfen, eine Ausbildung zu machen, die in Afghanistan verwehrt ist.

Ich finde, wenn wir uns die Situation genau anschauen, dann müssen wir uns eigentlich nicht wundern, wenn viele Menschen aus Afghanistan versuchen, nach Europa zu fliehen. Und dass wir ihnen nicht mit einem rechtsstaatlichen Verfahren begegnen, sondern sie vielfach entrechten, das, liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen, ist eigentlich nicht mal mehr Doppelmoral, das ist das Ende von Moral, und es ist etwas, was uns beschämen sollte.

  Charlie Weimers (ECR). – Mr President, Islamists and Islamic states are attacking free speech in Europe and some are waving the white flag. Denmark’s proposed ban on Quran burnings was praised by the Turkish Government. The speaker of the Arab League urged European states and the EU to adopt similar laws. Pakistan called Denmark’s bill a step in the right direction – a step, ladies and gentlemen.

97 % of mosques surveyed in Sweden want more. They want to criminalise desecration, provocations and insults of Islamic symbols and values in general – a giant leap toward Sharia.

Mr President, if you know the Islamist end game, the proper response can only be this: not one inch. No appeasement, no submission, no surrender. Never.

  Younous Omarjee (The Left). – Monsieur le Président, dans ce monde si civilisé, un terrien sur dix souffre de faim chronique. Dans notre Europe si riche, 90 millions de personnes sont menacées par la pauvreté. Aujourd’hui, avec l’inflation, des banques alimentaires, comme en France, sont à bout de souffle et c’est un français sur trois qui ne mange plus à sa faim.

Appelez cela comme vous voudrez: je dis que cela constitue des crimes, des crimes dont nous nous accommodons. Et soyons honnêtes, la tranquillité quotidienne de notre esprit suppose que nous chassions cette réalité insupportable de notre conscience, alors que c’est à cela que l’on devrait penser en permanence pour que toute notre force, toute notre intelligence, tous nos moyens soient tournés vers cette guerre qui doit être menée pour l’éradication de la faim et de la pauvreté.

  Andrea Bocskor (NI). – Elnök Úr! Ukrajnában másfél éve háború dúl. A nemzeti kisebbségek, így a kárpátaljai magyarok is harcolnak az ország védelmében. Befogadják a menekülteket, teszik a dolgukat a mielőbbi béke reményével.

Ennek ellenére a kisebbségi jogok 2017 óta folyamatosan szűkülnek. Az EU, a Velencei Bizottság és több uniós tagország is kérte Ukrajnát, hogy garantálják a nemzetközi kötelezettségvállalások szerinti kisebbségi jogokat, állítsák helyre a korábbi oktatási és anyanyelvi jogokat. Ezt a 2022-es kisebbségi törvényben nem sikerült megvalósítani, de az első olvasatban elfogadott módosítási tervezet sem orvosolja a főbb gondokat.

Egy Unióba törekvő ország nem foszthatja meg európai kisebbségeit attól, hogy anyanyelvű iskolákat működtessenek, és nemzeti közösségként éljenek. Ezért felháborító, hogy egy kárpátaljai magyar iskolában indokolatlanul váltották le a kisebbségi igazgatót. A tanévnyitón megtiltották a magyar nemzeti szimbólumok használatát és a himnusz lejátszását. Ez egyáltalán nem európai és nem demokratikus.

Remélem, tesznek majd ez ellen Önök is.

  Άννα-Μισέλ Ασημακοπούλου (PPE). – Κύριε Πρόεδρε, εδώ στην Ολομέλεια του Ευρωπαϊκού Κοινοβουλίου έχουμε συζητήσει πολλές φορές για την ένταξη των Δυτικών Βαλκανίων και η Ελλάδα έχει υπάρξει επισπεύδουσα χώρα. Η πρόσφατη όμως απόφαση αλβανικού δικαστηρίου, με την οποία απορρίπτεται το αίτημα αποφυλάκισης του εκλεγμένου δημάρχου Χειμάρρας Φρέντι Μπελέρη, συνιστά μία σοβαρή εξέλιξη στην ενταξιακή πορεία της Αλβανίας, γιατί η απόφαση έρχεται σε ευθεία αντίθεση με το ευρωπαϊκό κεκτημένο, το οποίο οι αλβανικές αρχές οφείλουν να τηρούν, αλλά και καταστρατηγεί τις θεμελιώδεις αρχές του κράτους δικαίου.

Με πρωτοβουλία της Νέας Δημοκρατίας και του Ευρωπαϊκού Λαϊκού Κόμματος υιοθετήθηκε έκτακτο ψήφισμα, καλώντας τις αλβανικές αρχές να σεβαστούν το αποτέλεσμα των τοπικών εκλογών του Μαΐου και να διασφαλίσουν την ορκωμοσία του εκλεγμένου δημάρχου Χειμάρρας. Ο πρωθυπουργός της Ελλάδας Κυριάκος Μητσοτάκης από την πρώτη στιγμή έχει ξεκαθαρίσει ότι δεν θα επιτρέψουμε την παραβίαση των θεμελιωδών δικαιωμάτων του Φρέντι Μπελέρη αλλά και της ελληνικής μειονότητας στην Αλβανία.

Σας καλώ λοιπόν να στείλουμε όλοι μαζί ένα ηχηρό μήνυμα στις αλβανικές αρχές όσον αφορά την υπόθεση Μπελέρη. Πρέπει να σεβαστούν τους στοιχειώδεις κανόνες του κράτους δικαίου και τους στοιχειώδεις ευρωπαϊκούς κανόνες. Αυτή τη στιγμή αυτό που απαιτείται είναι πράξεις.

  Иво Христов (S&D). – Г-н Председател, войната в Украйна доведе до нарастваща милитаризация на Европейския съюз. Това не е мечтаната европейска отбрана, а тъкмо обратното. Подчиняването на европейския проект на евроатлантическите императиви, превръщането на Съюза в доставчик на оръжие, финансист и политически покровител на Украйна. Тази роля носи и големи рискове за европейския проект, защото решенията за развоя на войната се вземат извън Европейския съюз, но рисковете и последствията от нея засягат пряко икономиката, екологията и дори самото бъдеще на Съюза.

Доставката на боеприпаси с обеднен уран, нарастващото напрежение в Черно море и огромният брой човешки жертви не ни приближават към мира, още по-малко към победа. След броени месеци предстоят избори за Европейски парламент. Икономическите щети от войната ще определят техния резултат. Единственият начин Европа да защити своето геополитическо бъдеще е като формулира свой план за прекратяване на войната. Мир без Европа ще е мир за сметка на Европа.

  Vlad-Marius Botoş (Renew). – Domnule președinte, domnule comisar Breton, stimați colegi, Uniunea Europeană a demonstrat că poate aduce stabilitate și prosperitate tuturor europenilor. Soluțiile pe care le-am găsit împreună la provocările prin care am trecut de-a lungul timpului și în ultimii trei ani și, cu atât mai mult, modul în care negociem și găsim rezolvări sunt semne clare că atunci când ne dorim ceva, când avem nevoie să reacționăm, putem să avem succes dacă lucrăm împreună.

Sunt momente însă în care unele state membre nu vor să acționeze pentru binele nostru, al tuturor cetățenilor europeni, în care sunt tentate să pună populismul înainte de respectarea legilor și a regulilor stabilite de noi toți împreună. Pentru asemenea cazuri, cum este și cel al ținerii României și Bulgariei în afara spațiului Schengen, trebuie să găsim soluții, pentru că tratatele europene trebuie respectate, indiferent dacă îi convine unui partid, unui ministru de interne sau unui cancelar. Trebuie să le arătăm cetățenilor europeni că se pot baza pe noi, că putem garanta respectarea legislației europene aici, în Parlamentul European, dar și în celelalte instituții europene.

  Tineke Strik (Verts/ALE). – Mr President, how could we not talk about Afghanistan this week, two years after the Taliban takeover? While the situation worsens and the repression is growing, our attention deflects elsewhere. Women and girls are banned from education, banned from working for NGOs, banned from recreation, banned from life.

The poverty and the food crisis have reached a new low. Still, humanitarian organisations have to beg for sufficient funding. And the EU hardly resettles any people. So Afghan people are caught in the trap of the Taliban. Especially for women and girls, this means that their rights, their lives, are put on hold, that they are isolated from the world.

So we cannot leave the Afghans alone. We cannot forget about their fate. They deserve our support day by day until we have regained their freedoms. So we need a new effective EU strategy towards Afghanistan. So let us kick off this initiative for a new strategy with a fully-fledged debate in the next plenary.

  Cristian Terheş (ECR). – Mr President, over the past four years we have witnessed a significant decline in media freedom across all EU Member States. With the implementation of the Digital Services Act, we now have a minister of truth in the EU capable of censoring publications or personal opinions, even on social media.

This censorship tool, which eastern European Communists only dreamed of, is now a reality in western Europe. With the implementation of the Media Freedom Act, security services can spy upon European journalists more easily. This proposal is mainly supported by the EPP, Renew and the S&D, posing a clear threat to European democracies. During the pandemic, European institutions paid millions of euros to Brussels media, which in return did not criticise or oppose their corrupt or abusive actions.

In summary, under Ursula von der Leyen’s leadership, the EU is gradually but undeniably transforming into a new Soviet Union-style tyranny. I urge European citizens to vote for patriots and conservatives in 2024, so that we can restore freedom and liberty all across Europe.

  Patricia Chagnon (ID). – Monsieur le Président, chers amis et collègues chasseurs, puisque les pouvoirs publics sont dépassés par l’explosion de l’utilisation des armes de guerre dans les milieux criminels, ils veulent durcir les règles de propriété, de vente et de transport d’armes. Mais vous n’imaginez quand même pas une seconde que cela va empêcher les trafiquants et la racaille, qui opèrent dans la plus grande illégalité, de se procurer kalachnikovs et armes automatiques. Non, les écolos-bobos se frottent les mains, car en réalité, ce texte impactera surtout les chasseurs et les tireurs sportifs.

Je suis la rapporteure de ce texte pour notre groupe ID, et j’ai déposé des amendements pour exclure les chasseurs et tireurs sportifs de ces nouvelles contraintes. Mais je suis bien seule. Où sont les responsables de chasse en France? Pourquoi n’interpellent-ils pas les partis politiques pour s’opposer à ce texte? En réalité, ces responsables de chasse se complaisent dans ce système qui les maintient au pouvoir. Les problèmes des chasseurs sont en réalité leur fonds de commerce. Aux prochaines élections, ils vont vous raconter qu’ils seront là pour les résoudre. Honte à eux et les combines de ces pompiers pyromanes de la chasse. Je suis chasseuse et je partage avec vous cette passion, et c’est par conviction que je m’engage pour défendre notre passion.

  Kateřina Konečná (The Left). – Pane předsedající, mnohokrát jsem v téhle místnosti, ale i z úst ostatních evropských a národních představitelů mohla slyšet, že ochrana životního prostředí a přírody je prioritou Unie a také jejích členských států. Jistě, taková slova se určitě dobře poslouchají, ale podívejme se mimo tento sál na to, jaká je opravdová realita v Evropské unii, jak nyní dokazuje případ z České republiky, kde tolik zmiňovaná ochrana přírody musí v praxi ustoupit zájmům vojensko-průmyslového komplexu z důvodu šílené politiky militarizace.

Ministerstvo obrany České republiky představilo svůj úmysl postavit vojenské logistické centrum v Mošnově. Výstavba takového centra a přidružené infrastruktury by však hrubě narušila chráněnou krajinnou oblast Poodří, která je zároveň evropsky významnou lokalitou, a negativně by to ovlivnilo ptactvo žijící v této oblasti, a to bez adekvátní náhrady. Kolegové, jen proto, že jde o armádu, prosím nemlčte, když vám ničí to, co se tady snažíte chránit a do čeho investujete peníze.

  Tatjana Ždanoka (NI). – Mr President, 1 September was marked in my country Latvia’s calendar by two major events. First, children who started their studies in three grades of national minority primary schools will no longer hear their mother tongue. All lessons of the compulsory programme will be in Latvian. Second, thousands of locals who were not recognised as Latvian citizens 30 years ago – and who later only acquired citizenship of the Russian Federation – will start receiving orders to leave the country by the reason of bad mastery of Latvian language.

Appeals to international bodies yielded results and the government is now ready to discuss indulgences. These bodies were the OSCE and the UN, but unfortunately not the European Union. The recent response to the collective petition about ‘Russophobia’ in Latvia is as follows: the European Commission has no general power as regards minorities; it is for Member States to ensure that fundamental rights are effectively respected and protected. I consider this position a disgrace for the EU.

  Peter Pollák (PPE). – Pán predsedajúci, Slovensko o pár dní čakajú kľúčové parlamentné voľby, ktoré rozhodnú o tom, či Slovensko bude naďalej demokratickou krajinou alebo nám ju ukradnú mafiáni zo Smeru, ktorí spolu s fašistami z Republiky chcú urobiť v srdci Európy zo Slovenska ostrov diktatúry a fašizmu.

Od kovidu cez vojnu na Ukrajine, infláciu, energetickú krízu sú ich posolstvá plné klamstiev a manipulácií. Nenechali si dnes ani ujsť súčasnú nelegálnu migráciu na to, aby strašili a štvali ľudí. Šírením zloby si robia na utečencoch kampaň vo voľbách.

Treba však pripomenúť, že za súčasnú zvýšenú nelegálnu migráciu na Slovensku môže aj samotný Robert Fico, ktorý v roku 2018 za vlády Smeru zaviedol vydávanie potvrdení, ktorými dnes láka utečencov na Slovensko. Fico spolu s fašistami dokonca dnes blokovali slovenský parlament, aby sa nepodarilo zrušiť ich vlastný výmysel, potvrdenia pre utečencov, ktoré Slovensko vydáva ako jediná krajina v Únii.

Je to jasný dôkaz, že nehľadajú riešenia a ide im o hlasy vo voľbách. Kolegyne, kolegovia, Európa musí čo najskôr zvládnuť túto krízu, aby sme zabránili mafiánskym a fašistickým politikom dostať sa k moci na Slovensku, ako aj v akejkoľvek inej krajine v Európe.

  Victor Negrescu (S&D). – Domnule președinte, dragi colegi, zilele trecute au fost descoperite pe malul românesc al Dunării părți din drone folosite de armata rusă în atacurile care vizează distrugerea infrastructurii portuare a Ucrainei. Situația reclamă atenția autorităților europene, care trebuie să aibă o reacție comună și clară pe acest subiect. Uniunea Europeană trebuie să fie fermă în a-și exprima solidaritatea față de România și protejarea frontierelor noastre comune europene.

De aceea, am solicitat în bugetul european pentru anul viitor fonduri suplimentare pentru protejarea frontierelor noastre externe și pentru asistarea populației terorizate de atacurile ruse realizate chiar la câțiva metri de casele lor. Multe persoane se gândesc să părăsească zona, în timp ce afacerile lor sunt afectate și activitățile turistice stagnează. Europa trebuie să evite depopularea comunităților de frontieră, esențiale în asistența oferită Ucrainei și în viitorul proces de reconstrucție. Uniunea Europeană trebuie să fie pregătită să aplice tratatele europene și să acționeze prin măsuri concrete pentru protejarea tuturor cetățenilor europeni.

  Malte Gallée (Verts/ALE). – Herr Präsident! Wenn Sie als Mann momentan im Irak Lippenstift tragen oder Frauenkleider, dann können Sie dafür bis zu drei Jahre eingesperrt werden. Wenn Sie Homosexualität bewerben, können Sie sieben Jahre eingesperrt werden. Und wenn Sie über dreimal mit einem anderen Mann Sex haben, können Sie dafür die Todesstrafe bekommen. Zumindest, wenn das Gesetz, das dort vorgeschlagen ist, in Kraft tritt.

Das ist nicht nur im Irak so. Es sind unglaublich viele Länder auf diesem Planeten, die im Moment genau so eine Form von Queerfeindlichkeit erleben. Es hat Struktur. Es ist ganz klar erkennbar, dass es Regierungen sind, die mit der eigenen wirtschaftlichen Situation nicht zurechtkommen und einen Sündenbock suchen.

Aber es sind eben auch Geldflüsse aus Europa, die genau solche Erzählungen in diesen Regionen forcieren. Es sind fundamentalistische Evangelikale, die so etwas puschen. Und genau so etwas müssen Sie von der Kommission aus, Herr Kommissar, angehen. Wir müssen dafür sorgen, dass diesen Menschen das Handwerk gelegt wird, dass wir die Gelder entziehen. Darum bitte ich Sie.

  Γεώργιος Κύρτσος (Renew). – Κύριε Πρόεδρε, η κλιματική κρίση πλήττει με ιδιαίτερη σφοδρότητα την Ελλάδα, όπως και άλλες μεσογειακές χώρες. Αυτό επιβάλλει την εφαρμογή πολιτικών όσο το δυνατόν καλύτερης προστασίας του περιβάλλοντος και αποτελεσματικότερης πολιτικής προστασίας. Δυστυχώς αυτό δεν συμβαίνει στην Ελλάδα. Τα αντιπλημμυρικά έργα, τα οποία είχαν προγραμματιστεί μετά τις καταστροφές του 2020 στη Θεσσαλία, δεν κατασκευάστηκαν ποτέ, με αποτέλεσμα τα ακραία καιρικά φαινόμενα να προκαλέσουν προ ημερών ακόμη μεγαλύτερη καταστροφή.

Επιπλέον, η κυβέρνηση έχει αρχίσει να εφαρμόζει νόμους που ψηφίστηκαν προεκλογικά, με τους οποίους νομιμοποιούνται δεκάδες χιλιάδες αυθαίρετα κτίσματα και καταπατήσεις δημόσιων εκτάσεων, ακόμη και σε δασικές περιοχές, ενισχύοντας έτσι τα οικονομικά κίνητρα για την καταστροφή τους. Με τέτοιου είδους πολιτικές μεγεθύνονται οι συνέπειες της κλιματικής αλλαγής. Η απειλή είναι σοβαρή, γι αυτό πρέπει να είμαστε υπεύθυνοι και αποτελεσματικοί.

  Michiel Hoogeveen (ECR). – Voorzitter. Inflatie is verankerd in de economie en dat is levensgevaarlijk. Het inflatiecijfer mag dan het afgelopen jaar gedaald zijn, inflatie is niet weg. Het eet nog iedere dag uit de portemonnee van de mensen thuis. De prijzen dalen namelijk niet. Dalende inflatie betekent enkel dat de prijzen minder snel stijgen. In twee jaar tijd zijn de kosten van het levensonderhoud met ruim 15 % gestegen. De olieprijs staat alweer torenhoog en de loonkosten stijgen in een recordtempo.

Voorzitter, iedereen heeft ineens de mond vol van bestaanszekerheid. Als wij deze willen garanderen, maar nog belangrijker de welvaart willen verhogen, dan moeten wij eerst inflatie bestrijden. Dat wil zeggen dat de Europese Centrale Bank de renteverhogingen moet doorzetten en overheden op dieet moeten. Wij roepen ook de Europese Commissie op om te snijden in het eigen budget en de rekening niet neer te leggen bij onze belastingbetalers.

  Isabella Tovaglieri (ID). – Signor Presidente, onorevoli colleghi, quando i nostri amministratori locali si sforzano di applicare nei territori i provvedimenti folli e ideologici decisi nei palazzi di Bruxelles, i risultati sono inevitabilmente disastrosi e a farne le spese sono sempre e solo i cittadini.

In Piemonte, ad esempio, per colpa delle "eurofollie" di Bruxelles 140 000 lavoratori e famiglie che possiedono auto relativamente recenti – parliamo, ad esempio, di auto che hanno solo otto anni, si tratta dei diesel Euro 5 immatricolati fino al 2015 – hanno rischiato da un giorno all'altro di perdere il diritto alla mobilità e, quindi, anche il sacrosanto diritto al lavoro.

Fortunatamente in Italia c'è un governo di centrodestra che, grazie al forte pressing della Lega, ha scongiurato questa assurdità europea, rinviando con un decreto il blocco delle auto diesel Euro 5 in Piemonte e in tutto il bacino padano, consentendo così al motore dell'economia italiana di continuare a correre.

Questo governo, lontano anni luce dall'ambientalismo da salotto, difenderà sempre le tasche degli italiani, perché la sostenibilità ambientale non può esistere senza quella... (il Presidente toglie la parola all'oratrice).

  Clare Daly (The Left). – Mr President, there are 1 million people homeless across Europe tonight, according to the Feantsa report. Millions more live in dilapidated, overcrowded accommodation. And of course – true to form – Ireland is one of the worst performers in that list.

Fifteen years after the financial disaster of 2008, it’s time to start joining the dots. An entire generation has been systematically, deliberately, locked out of home ownership. For Europe’s young people, their future – whether they like it or not – is renting. It’s insecure, inadequate housing. It’s fattening the wallets of the investment megafunds that are buying up our cities. It’s watching the EU and governments connive to take us back to the 18th century.

There isn’t a housing crisis. This is policy – policy to put the ownership into the hands of the 1%, and everyone else can rent or be homeless. It’s never been just about supply and demand. This is big finance, big business, stealing the ground from under our feet. But the people have begun to see through it and they will resist.

  Michaela Šojdrová (PPE). – Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, today I want to raise awareness and ask you to sign and share our petition. We have a lunch today with colleague Ivan Štefanec. We would like to ask you to support this petition regarding the ban for Russian and Belarussian athletes from the 2024 Olympic Games.

It was the European Parliament which made this call to the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in the first place. But, despite our efforts, it is clear that the IOC is still hesitating to ban those athletes from the games.

It is simply unacceptable to cheer for Russian athletes when their government is responsible for thousands of deaths of civilians, including children. Our petition call is clear: athletes competing under the neutral flag must sign a declaration denouncing the Russian aggression against Ukraine.

  Gunnar Beck (ID). – Herr Präsident! Die EZB fordert die Einführung des digitalen Euro. Als große Vorteile nannte EZB-Direktor und Banca-d'Italia-Chef Panetta, dass der digitale Euro den Nutzern Anonymität biete, Offline-Zahlungen ermögliche und wirklich europäisch sei.

Offline zahlen aber können wir schon jahrtausendelang, bar, oder jahrhundertelang per Scheck oder per Überweisung. Und wer aus innerem Zwang nun quasi digital zahlen muss, kann das auch jahrelang schon mit privaten digitalen Währungen und Dienstleistungen. Und anonym bleiben die Zahlungsflüsse nur so lange, wie die EZB nicht die Beteiligten ermittelt, obwohl sie dies problemlos jederzeit könnte.

Der EZB – so die EZB – könnten wir als europäischer Institution vertrauen. Ich nehme das mal als Scherz. Immerhin hat uns Deutschen die EZB unbezahlbare Immobilienpreise, Rekordinflation und 15 Jahre – mindestens 15 Jahre – sinkende Lebensstandards beschert. Vertrauen, so seien Sie bitte erinnert, erwächst aus Vertrauenswürdigkeit.

  Mick Wallace (The Left). – Mr President, last week we discussed the Ukraine facility – EUR 50 billion over four years for reconstruction – while the bombs still rain down. We have a EUR 20 billion Ukraine weapon fund, EUR 5 billion for four years, even if the war ends.

This week we vote on a EUR 300 million procurement subsidy. This is on top of the EUR 500 million package for ammunition production in July. And we’re waiting to hear from the Commission about the European Defence Production Act – more subsidies for the merchants of death.

Ukrainians are getting decimated and the arms industry and their investors are laughing all the way to the bank. Half of the arms companies drawing on EU funds are embroiled in corruption scandals, while Ukraine is a basket case of corruption itself. And we cannot throw enough money at them. The EU is losing the plot.

US officials are talking about getting ready for a long war. At this rate, it will cost over EUR 1 trillion for reconstruction, and an entire generation of Ukrainian men will be dead. When will we start working for peace? What in God’s name is wrong with us?

  Sandra Pereira (The Left). – Senhor Presidente, passam hoje exatamente 50 anos sobre o golpe fascista que derrubou o governo popular do Chile, liderado pelo presidente Salvador Allende.

Num momento em que alguns procuram branquear o que foi o fascismo e os seus crimes e em que são promovidas forças profundamente reacionárias de extrema-direita e fascistas, devemos lembrar o golpe militar fascista do Chile, a cruel, violenta e sanguinária ditadura de Pinochet, as nefastas consequências da brutal aplicação das teses neoliberais de Chicago para os trabalhadores e o povo chileno, mas, também, a persistente e corajosa resistência dos comunistas e de outros democratas e progressistas chilenos contra a ditadura fascista.

Tendo presente toda a solidariedade expressa em Portugal, particularmente pela Revolução de Abril durante esses anos negros no Chile, nos 50 anos de um crime que não deve ser esquecido, lembramos as suas vítimas e reafirmamos a nossa solidariedade para com os trabalhadores e o povo chileno e a nossa confiança na construção de um estilo soberano, democrático de justiça e progresso social.

  João Pimenta Lopes (The Left). – Senhor Presidente, o impacto do brutal aumento das taxas de juro decidido pelo BCE, com ou sem novos aumentos, continuará a fazer-se sentir.

Sob a subserviência de governos a estas medidas, como em Portugal, os povos estão a pagar com língua de palmo as consequências destas decisões. São cada vez mais as famílias em Portugal com dificuldade em pagar a prestação da casa, enquanto os grandes grupos económicos, beneficiários das políticas do BCE no combate à inflação, acumulam milhões e milhões de lucros, desde logo a banca – 11 milhões por dia no meu país.

Basta! É preciso reverter estes aumentos. No imediato, deve ser a banca e não as famílias a suportarem o impacto dos aumentos já decididos. O combate aos impactos da inflação passa pelo aumento de salários e pensões, pelo combate à especulação, pela regulação dos preços dos bens e serviços essenciais, pela tributação dos lucros dos grandes grupos económicos – em prol da promoção do desenvolvimento e do progresso social –, pela dinamização da produção nacional. Medidas que não se ouvem às instituições da União Europeia.
