– Nach der Abstimmung:

  Karen Melchior (Renew). – Mr President, thank you very much for giving me the floor. It’s a point of order regarding the entry into the room of the children of MEPs. We had a colleague that was barred entrance into the plenary room for the vote because he had his child with him.

To make a change of the rules of entry into the plenary with short notice and stopping a parent with his child at the doors of the plenary – having a discussion with the parent across the head of the child – is not acceptable.

I missed votes. Our colleague missed votes because of the change of rules. We should have a Parliament that allows people to be parents and politicians at the same time.

  Der Präsident. – Frau Kollegin, ich will das mal nicht interpretieren. Die Zustimmung ist richtig, aber die Begeisterung ist nicht ganz angebracht. Die Dienste versichern mir, dass sie das immer möglich machen. Und über den Kopf des Kindes ist sicher kein zutreffendes Argument. Letztlich entscheiden die Dienste, was möglich ist. Es gibt Regeln und diese Regeln werden eingehalten und die Dienste werden auch diesen Fall überprüfen. Wir werden Ihnen wieder darüber berichten. Wir werden auch diesen Fall überprüfen. Und die Regeln gelten für alle.
