11.5. Potreba za nepokolebljivom potporom EU-a Ukrajini dvije godine nakon početka ruske ratne agresije (RC-B9-0143/2024)

  Piernicola Pedicini (Verts/ALE). – Signor Presidente, onorevoli colleghi, ho votato contro l'ennesima risoluzione per inviare armi e per un sostegno fermo all'Ucraina. Noi abbiamo già sostenuto l'Ucraina con 91 miliardi di euro e, nonostante ciò, l'esercito ucraino è chiaramente sconfitto: prendiamone atto.

A pagare questo sforzo economico sono state le popolazioni più deboli dell'Unione europea. Sono stati i poveri a pagare le scelte scellerate della von der Leyen e dei governi europei, per fare una guerra assurda che abbiamo voluto e provocato proprio noi occidentali.

Io voglio ricordare che, già dopo una settimana dall'inizio delle ostilità, Russia e Ucraina avevano trovato un accordo diplomatico, che gli Stati Uniti e il Regno Unito hanno prontamente boicottato, sacrificando la popolazione ucraina, sacrificando centinaia di migliaia di ragazzi al fronte da una parte e dall'altra. E hanno pure sacrificato l'economia europea che adesso è in ginocchio in nome di una schifosa sudditanza agli Stati Uniti e alla NATO.

Forse non è chiaro a tutti che fino ad ora gli Stati Uniti sono stati pronti a combattere fino all'ultimo ucraino ma ora sono pronti a combattere fino all'ultimo europeo.

  Clare Daly (The Left). – Mr President, we are in the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine – hundreds of thousands dead, millions displaced and Ukraine lost as an independent state. Yet the only solution that people in here can come up with is to continue the failed policies that you’ve been implementing for the last two years. So I voted against this resolution.

I voted against it because only 93 people in here consider that it is necessary in all conflicts to undertake diplomatic efforts to end them, because only 71 people here regret that political and diplomatic efforts are not being used to end the war. I regret the fact that Parliament failed to take account of the writing-off and the cancellation of Ukraine’s debt to adhere to human rights and labour rights, and so on.

The truth of the matter is that the only interests we’re serving are the ones of the military industrial complex – not Ukraine at all.

  Mick Wallace (The Left). – Mr President, I voted against this. What does unwavering EU support for Ukraine really mean? If we were really prepared to support Ukraine, we would help to end the war. We have done nothing to bring about peace. We have opposed dialogue and diplomacy. We have supported the US-NATO proxy war from the start. We have wasted billions of EU taxpayers’ money on this stupid war. And where’s it going? It isn’t going in Ukraine’s direction.

Hundreds of thousands of working-class Ukrainian kids are dead – for no good reason! Ukraine has been destroyed. Western corporations from the US and Europe are buying up the land on the western side of Ukraine for peanuts. This is madness! Pumping more money into Ukraine now has become a money laundering exercise at this stage – to feed the military industrial complex and just to please the US at a great expense to every citizen in Europe. This place is losing it!

  Anders Vistisen (ID). – Hr. Formand! Ukraine er skuffet, ukrainerne er skuffede, og de er skuffet over jer. Jeg var der for få dage siden, og alle de løfter, der er blevet givet om militærstøtte, om en million granater, de er som forduftet ud i solen. Vi ser, at lille Danmark har givet dobbelt så meget i militær bistand som Frankrig som Spanien som Italien tilsammen. Hvis vi virkelig ønsker, at ukrainerne skal have muligheden for sejr over Rusland, så skal vi til at være seriøse i forhold til at lade de fine skåltaler her i Bruxelles blive fulgt op af faktisk handling, af granater, af militært udstyr, af de ting, man skal bruge, hvis man skal vinde en krig og ikke bare er tomme ord og løfter fra Bruxelles.
