A vast number of different types of chargers and other connections are employed for the various mobile phones in use throughout Europe. On changing mobile phones, much of this equipment becomes waste or indeed hazardous waste.
Might this problem be resolved by the EU requiring the companies which manufacture and market mobile phones to use uniform chargers and connectors for their products?
In this way we could avoid creating large quantities of waste and hazardous waste, and wasting valuable energy resources.
