Yes, the Commission can confirm that the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement, establishing an association between the European Communities and their Member States, and the Kingdom of Morocco, which is the legal framework of the EU‑Morocco relations, only applies to the territory of the Kingdom of Morocco, as it is stipulated in Article 94 of this Agreement.

The Commission will keep following very closely the situation of the Sahrawi population of Western Sahara and, in particular, the negotiations undertaken under the auspices of the Secretary General of the United Nations in order to find an acceptable political solution to the conflict. In this regard, the Commission supports the efforts of the Secretary General to mediate between the parties in compliance with the Security Council Resolution 1813(2008).
