In the Commission's Work Programme for 2011, point 2.6 (tapping the potential of the Single Market for growth) announces the ‘presentation in 2011 of proposals for the modernisation of public procurement rules and the establishment of common rules concerning concession contracts’.

1. What are the Commission's priorities for this review of the legal framework for public procurement?

2. What measures does it intend to include in the review of Directive 2004/18/EC and Directive 2004/17/EC with the aim of (a) improving transparency in public procurement procedures and (b) speeding up the process from start to finish?

3. In the context of this review, what role will be reserved for electronic public procurement?
