Following the 2010 Progress Report on Croatia and the report of the CONT/BUDG Delegation to Croatia, could the Commission answer the following questions?

1. What amounts of pre-accession funds have been allocated by the Union, and to which specific projects, in the field of preventing, monitoring and combating corruption in Croatia since it acquired the status of a candidate country? What amounts of the allocated funds have already been paid out to the beneficiaries? What were the exact amounts co-financed by domestic authorities? For each of these questions, please provide statistical data for every project on a yearly basis, separately for each of the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

2. What amounts of pre-accession funds has the EU allocated, and to which specific projects, for reform of the judicial system in Croatia since it acquired the status of a candidate country? What amounts of the allocated funds have already been paid out to the beneficiaries? What were the exact amounts co-financed by domestic authorities? For each of these questions, please provide statistical data for every project on a yearly basis, separately for each of the years 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

3. What effective results, added value and impact have been obtained through the allocation of pre-accession funds to the fight against corruption and the reform of the judicial system? Please also provide information regarding the funded projects’ compliance with the eligibility rules.

4. What steps is the Commission taking towards a detailed assessment of the efficiency of anti-corruption measures taken by Croatia in the area of public procurement?

5. How does the Commission plan to support financially the continuation of the judicial system reforms and the fight against corruption in Croatia?
