The 2006 administrative arrangement between the Kingdom of Spain and the Council of the European Union[1] has featured in the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section of the Council's website[2] for several years now. It is quoted in reply to the question ‘What are the rules governing languages at the Council?’. Visitors to the site learn that the arrangement allows Spanish citizens to write to the Council in Catalan, and in languages other than Catalan which also have official status.
The Council is ready to create a link on its Internet site to the Spanish Government website which offers certified translations of EU acts adopted by the codecision procedure as soon as the requisite conditions have been met.
