The Commission is aware of the proposed measures of the EU supported studies like HYENA, HEARTS and PINCH and it will take into consideration the results of these research activities in the forthcoming review of the directive 2002/49/EC[1] related to the assessment and management of environmental noise.
The Commission intends to submit to the Parliament and the Council a report on the implementation of the above directive in the second half of 2011. The report will, if appropriate, be accompanied by proposals for the amendment of the directive.
