Rule 117
Michail Tremopoulos (Verts/ALE)
On 21 April 2010, the Greek Ministry for Infrastructure, Transport and Networks submitted a proposal for public consultation concerning the new institutional framework for the commercial transport of goods by road[1], the final date for online consultation being 3 May 2010.
Under Decision No 357/2009 EC[2] of the European Parliament and the Council of 22 April 2009, any Member State proposing to adopt laws, regulations or administrative provisions concerning transport by road liable to interfere substantially with the implementation of the common transport policy shall, in good time and in writing, notify the Commission of such measures and at the same time inform the other Member States.
In view of this:
- —To what extent has the Greek Government complied with its obligation to notify the Commission of its intentions in good time and in writing?
- —Insofar as it is aware of the Greek Government’s intentions, does the Commission regard the planned measures as compatible with current European legislation?
