Parliamentary question - E-002372/2011(ASW)Parliamentary question
E-002372/2011(ASW)

Answer given by Mrs Reding on behalf of the Commission

The Commission has no information on the situations to which the Honourable Member refers. Whereas certain policies and actions to improve the situation of people with disabilities across the EU, including their rights in public transport, are carried out at European level, the matter raised is not related to the implementation of EC law. It is for Member States to ensure that their obligations regarding fundamental rights, including the rights of guide dog users and other persons with disabilities are respected. Finally, the Commission rejects any use of such cases to stigmatise a particular religion.
