The Commission would like to refer the Honourable Member to his Written Question E‑5907/2010[1] on the same matter.
New legal requirements regarding authenticity, identification and safety features for medicinal products have been adopted within legislation to prevent the entry into the legal supply chain of falsified medicinal products (new legislation Directive 2011/62/EU[2]).
In view of the above, the Commission does not see the need for legislation on aroma identifiers for medicinal products.
