The significance of information technologies is growing in contemporary society.
The burden of red tape on businesses needs to be reduced.
Many obstacles still exist to the establishment of online service provision across national borders.
State administration needs to be made more efficient and more accessible for members of the public.
The Commission has issued a communication, ‘A Digital Agenda for Europe’, which lists among its objectives that of attaining a digital single market in the European Union (EU).
In view of the above, is the Commission working on ways of making it possible both for members of the public and for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to submit documents to the EU institutions electronically?
Are there plans for international identification of electronic identity and interoperability, and how will this be arranged?
How can SMEs currently access the electronic systems of the EU institutions?
