Further to its answer to Written Question E-011134/2010, could the Commission provide updated information in reply to the following questions:
- 1.To what amount, and to which specific projects, has the EU allocated pre-accession funds to be used in the area of preventing, monitoring and combating corruption in Turkey since it acquired the status of a candidate country? At present, what amounts from the funds allocated have already been committed and paid out to the beneficiaries? What were the exact amounts co-financed by domestic authorities? For each of these questions, please provide statistical data for each project on a yearly basis, separately for each year from 2000 to 2012.
- 2.To what amount, and to which specific projects, has the EU allocated pre-accession funds for the reform of the judicial system in Turkey since it acquired the status of a candidate country? At present, what amounts from the funds allocated have already been committed and paid out to the beneficiaries? What were the exact amounts co-financed by domestic authorities? For each of these questions, please provide statistical data for each project on a yearly basis, separately for each year from 2000 to 2012.
- 3.Please make available the project fiches for the projects implemented prior to 2007 in the area of preventing, monitoring and combating corruption in Turkey and for the reform of the country’s judicial system.
- 4.What are the effective results, the added value and the impact obtained through the allocation of pre-accession funds to finance measures to fight corruption and reform the judicial system? Please also provide information on compliance of the financed projects with the eligibility rules.
- 5.How does the Commission plan to financially support the continuation of the reforms of the judiciary and the fight against corruption in Turkey during the budgetary period 2014‐2020? What priorities for action are currently envisaged?
- 6.What concrete initiatives is the Commission working on for the evaluation of pre‐accession funds spent on individual projects in Turkey?
