In line with Article 30 of Directive 2008/98/EC[1] on waste, Gipuzkoa's 2008 waste management plan should have been evaluated and revised, as appropriate, by the end of 2014. The Commission is currently investigating this issue.

The Commission does not have specific information on the cost of the cancellation of the project to build a waste-to-energy plant in Gipuzkoa.
