The objectives of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP) which was drawn up during the period 2007-2013 include increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of enterprises within the European Union.
CIP actions overlap with those of the current EU programme for the Competitiveness of Enterprises and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (COSME).
1. Given the importance of the CIP and COSME, as a complement to the policies of EU Member States for entrepreneurs and SMEs, which have a budget of EUR 2 300 million for the period 2014-2020 to help them with start-ups and accessing funding, will the Commission indicate the geographical distribution of the CIP during the period 2007-2013 in terms of Member States and regions as well as the expected distribution of COSME for the period 2014 ‐2020?
2. Has any provision been made for an assessment of the CIP in order to establish the added value generated by this programme and thus better direct the actions of COSME?
