The recent deadly attacks in Paris and Copenhagen and the numerous attacks against Muslims and Jews across Europe have acted as a pretext for racist groups to rear their heads. We have seen an increase in anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and violent extremism. These worrying trends, while having different sources and sometimes different manifestations, must be equally addressed by the EU.
1. What is the EU doing to address hate speech and hate crime?
2. Is the Commission going to introduce new instruments to tackle these problems?
