E-006810-15
Question for written answer E-006810-15
to the Council
Rule 130
Kazimierz Michał Ujazdowski (ECR)

Subject:  Tying the establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office to the entry into force and implementation of the PIF Directive
 Answer in writing

The directive on the fight against fraud to the Union's financial interests by means of criminal law (PIF Directive), which establishes the types of criminal offence involved, will form the basis for the work of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO). That directive should therefore be brought into force and implemented before the EPPO is set up.

Does the Council share this view, and will it see to it that the projected date for the establishment of the EPPO is brought into line with the timetable for the adoption and implementation of the PIF Directive?
