According to government media, by the end of July the National Employment Service had put forward over 44 000 young people for possible participation in the Youth Guarantee scheme in Hungary. It appears from the communication from the family and youth secretariat of the Ministry of Human Resources that 11 000 of them entered the substantive preparation phase, of whom over 9 600 received a recommendation. The Youth Guarantee is a scheme aimed at reducing youth unemployment and improving young people’s life situations, by a comprehensive combination of training and employment measures, and is vitally important in Member States affected by youth unemployment. The EU has allocated the equivalent of HUF 15 billion for this programme during the 2014-2020 budget period.
— How is the Commission monitoring the implementation of the Youth Guarantee Programme in the Member States?
— What success has it met with in those countries where the programme is already in operation?
— Does it have an expectation of success as regards the programme in Hungary?
