On 3 March 2013, the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) came into force to stop the placing of illegal timber or derived products on the European market. Competent authorities in Member States are responsible for the application and enforcement of this regulation. Can the Commission provide a breakdown by Member State showing:
- —how many checks have been carried out by competent authorities; and
- —how many cases there have been in which operators have been found to be in breach of the EUTR, and what sanctions have been applied?
