Eco-stickers

Question for written answer E-000853-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Pascal Arimont (PPE)

In Germany all the low-emission zones have now been established and only vehicles showing an eco-sticker may be driven in these zones. Border regions where such a system is not applied, could suffer as a result, since the free movement of goods and persons, for instance, might be impaired there.

How will the Commission ensure that the fundamental freedoms of the internal market are not adversely affected by such measures?

If several Member States were to require vehicles to have eco-stickers, would the Commission propose a uniform measure, showing, for instance, that a vehicle meets the necessary criteria for use in urban areas across the EU ?
