Question for written answer E-001380-16
to the Commission
Rule 130
Jonathan Arnott (EFDD)

Subject:  Revision of Firearms Directive: definition of ‘replica’ and ‘imitation firearm’
 Answer in writing

The revision of the Firearms Directive uses the word ‘replica’, whereas in UK law the phrase ‘imitation firearm’ is clearly defined.

Can the Commission provide me with an assurance that the word ‘replica’ will not be interpreted more broadly than the current UK phrase ‘imitation firearm’?
