The Commission monitors compliance by Member States with state aid decisions on the basis of annual reports and through an annual monitoring exercise by which the implementation of a number of approved state aid schemes are reviewed in depth.

The Commission has not specifically monitored the tax relief to which the Honourable Member is referring but would consider doing so. The Commission cannot prejudge the steps that it might take following such monitoring. However, the Commission thanks the Honourable Member for drawing its attention to the report of Transparency International.
