E-000549-17
Question for written answer E-000549-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
David Casa (PPE)

Subject:  Promotion of Personal Health Systems
 Answer in writing

In recent years the EU has promoted Personal Health Systems, i.e. systems worn by individuals which can be used by doctors to monitor and diagnose health conditions and treatments especially for the patient. This is especially useful in monitoring diseases such as diabetes or heart conditions outside the hospital environment.

Can the Commission indicate what harmonisation measures have gone forward in this area as a result of EU initiatives?

What role does the Commission see for itself in promoting and improving Personal Health Systems in use in the EU?
