Question for written answer E-005981-17
to the Commission
Rule 130
Ole Christensen (S&D)

Subject:  Commission's announcement of a social package for aviation
 Answer in writing

This question refers back to my earlier question (E-004176/2017) on Social aspects of the Aviation Strategy. Unfortunately the Commission did not answer the earlier question but chose instead to list a number of facts. I am therefore forced to put the question again. I have chosen to word the question more precisely in the hope that the Commission will this time decide to answer it.

On 19 June 2017, the Transport Commissioner, Ms Bulc, told the European Parliament’s Committee on Transport and Tourism that the Commission would address the social aspects of aviation in late 2017 or early 2018. At a meeting of the European Cockpit Association (ECA) and the European Transport Workers Federation (ETF) Commissioner Bulc specified that she would be launching a social package for aviation in 2018 in cooperation with Commissioner Thyssen.

Can the Commission confirm that a social package for aviation will be put forward in 2017 or 2018?

If so, can the Commission specify what problems this social package for aviation will resolve?
