Parliamentary question - E-000006/2018(ASW)Parliamentary question
E-000006/2018(ASW)

Answer given by Mr Navracsics on behalf of the Commission

In order to participate in the Erasmus+ programme, higher education institutions have to be designated by the national authorities. In the case of disputed territories or conflict zones, this designation is frequently withheld, as is currently the case for institutions located in Nagorno-Karabakh.

It should however be noted that individual students from Nagorno-Karabakh are eligible and can apply directly for Erasmus+ scholarships to the consortia selected under Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degrees. The students should meet the academic requirements of the course they are applying to, and they will be assessed in an open and competitive selection process based on the excellence of individual applications.
