Question for written answer E-002700-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Jiří Maštálka (GUE/NGL)

Subject:  EU accession dates for countries interested in EU membership
 Answer in writing

On his visit to Tirana on 7 May 2018, the Polish Foreign Minister endorsed the Commission’s view on opening accession talks with Albania, stating that Poland was, together with Romania and Bulgaria, firmly in favour of future EU enlargement.

Does the Commission already have accession dates in mind for those countries (and not only Albania) interested in joining the EU? Is the issue of EU enlargement really on the table at present, or is the Commission not actually anticipating any enlargement at all?
