E-003966-18
Question for written answer E-003966-18
to the Commission
Rule 130
Mirosław Piotrowski (ECR)

Subject:  Suspension of ratification of the CETA agreement
 Answer in writing

In view of the decision of the Austrian President, Alexander Van der Bellen, not to sign the CETA agreement before the Court of Justice of the European Union has ruled on its conformity with EC law (i.e. before determining whether the courts of arbitration defined in the agreement are consistent with EC law), can the Commission clarify whether it intends to call on EU Member States to suspend ratification of the agreement until the Court has announced its verdict?
